– You have friends or family who keep telling you what you should do, rather than really listening
– You feel ‘stuck’ and need help to get moving again with your life
– You want to make repairs to your relationship but your partner doesn’t want to have counselling
– You need help managing your relationships in a ‘blended’ family
– You are struggling with a difficult work colleague or situation
– You (or a loved one) are using drugs or alcohol more than you would like
- Your relationship or marriage is being damaged by conflict and arguments
– There has been a breach of trust or an infidelity
– Your parenting role is affecting your relationship
– You want to live a more balanced and meaningful life

Vanessa is a skilled and experienced therapist working with both individuals and couples who are struggling with conflict, communication issues, anxiety, depression, grief, loss, family dysfunction, trauma, transitions in life, addictions and substance dependency. Depending on your needs, Vanessa will draw from a variety of therapeutic modalities, all incorporating a respectful, strengths-based, person-centred approach.
Speak with Vanessa confidentially in a comfortable room in Mona Vale on Sydney’s Northern Beaches and allow yourself to move forward in your life and your relationships with clarity, peace and happiness.

Vanessa Steele

I am an experienced counsellor and psychotherapist available to help you work through whatever difficulty is in your life right now, including: anxiety, depression, stress, grief, trauma, communication issues, marriage issues, relationships, anger, addictions, bullying, domestic or family violence, or if you are feeling stuck in a problem. I can help you get back on track in your relationships through addressing issues which may be obstacles to communication and connection.

I see both individuals and couples for private counselling sessions in private practice from comfortable, private rooms in Mona Vale, or online via Zoom or Telehealth.

I have a Bachelor of Counselling degree, am a clinical supervisor, and have Level 4 registration with the Australian Counselling Association. With almost 10 years counselling experience, I have also worked extensively as a therapist at South Pacific Private, at Lifeline in crisis counselling, and completed training with the Couples Institute.

Working with your feelings and experiences, together we take apart the messy knot of problems, clarify your goals and develop a way to reach them.
In a caring and safe space on the Northern Beaches, we can speak confidentially about any issues.
As your counsellor, I will help you through your challenges utilising strength-based, person-centred and solution-focused therapies, among others.

The counsellor-client therapeutic relationship is a central part of the healing process. If you are feeling overwhelmed, anxious, in emotional pain, or want to have a better relationship with your loved one, counselling can help you. I am committed to providing the best service possible to you as my client.

You can find more information about the way we would work together on my website: thoughtmatters.com.au
or email me now to start the process and move beyond any fear, shame, frustration, anger or grief that is getting in the way of your happiness.
