Hello and welcome to my listing.

I am an accredited mental health social worker based in Glebe Sydney. I provide counselling and psychotherapy to adolescents, youth and adults. When deciding between being a psychologist and a mental health social worker I chose the latter. This is because social workers don’t just regard problems as belonging to the individual. They also take into account how external life factors affect people’s wellbeing. For example, if a person is experiencing depression I don’t see this as happening in a bubble. Rather I look at the factors in their life that are contributing to their depression and work with these as well.

Key areas I specialise in include:
LGBTIQA+ issues
Mental Health concerns such as anxiety and depression
Experiences of trauma
Drug and alcohol use
Self-harm and suicidality
Adolescent and youth specific issues

I strongly value being non-judgmental and working in a collaboration with my clients. Everyone is the expert of their own life and it’s my job to help you to make the changes that are important to you.

It takes courage to come to therapy and talk about our difficulties. A benefit of seeing a therapist is being able to talk to someone who’s not part of your friendship/family network. Family and friends can mean well but there are times when they don’t meet our needs. Counselling provides a confidential safe space for you to speak freely and discover what’s helpful for you.

My practice is eclectic and uses a wide range of therapy styles. This allows me to tailor my therapy to meet your individual needs and work in a way that resonates with you. Modalities I use include Motivational interviewing, Trauma informed practice, Interpersonal therapy, Psychoeducation, Mindfulness and Relaxation, Process Oriented Psychology, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT).

I have over 10 years experience providing counselling and psychotherapy. Previously I have worked for NSW Health, Youth specific and Adult specific Non-Government Organisations. You can check out my website if you would like more information about me and my work as a counsellor and psychotherapist.
