Are you feeling overwhelmed, numb and alone in your life not knowing how to move forward?

Have you stopped talking to family or friends because they just don’t understand or you don’t want to burden them with your problems anymore? All too often people cut off their support network and wear a mask so as not to upset or burden family or friends.  By cutting off your support network, you land up suffering in silence.  This may work for a while however like a balloon you are likely to burst by the pressure. It doesn’t need to be this way. Counselling is a remarkable option allowing the spotlight to be on you.  This is your time to make meaning of your world without having to censor yourself as well as not having to worry about upsetting anyone.  Counselling allows time for self – awareness to develop organically. You are born into this world and grow up with what your parents, teachers, society have instilled in you. However, when you become dissatisfied or unsure of yourself its time to reassess your beliefs in order to find your authentic self. Although personal loss is inevitable and it occurs in various ways, such as the loss of an object, a job, or a more definite loss, namely death of a loved one, not all losses result in grief.   However, a final loss, such as death can cause heartache and grief.  Grief is defined as a personal and emotional response with physical sensations as a result of the loss.  Furthermore, grief results in a sense of losing a part of you and therefore generates a need to understand yourself in a new reality that stems from the loss. I have extensive experience working with people who have lost part of themselves either from: • Divorce and Broken Relationships • Adolescents • Death and Dying • Immigration • Depression • Anxiety • Parenthood • Marriage • Transitional Life Changes I work from a person centred and humanistic approach; however I have been trained in many modalities and will use them appropriately to what suits your needs.  Although many issues that you may be facing, could be an element of loss, I, however, have witnessed profound change in people who have, through counselling managed to process their loss and have succeeded in making new meaning in their life. As I have personally experienced a number of losses in my own life, I am empathetic and passionate about the emotions that loss causes and consequently, am dedicated to my profession and could help you embrace your overwhelming feelings of loss. Sometimes you have to lose yourself in order to find yourself. Take the first step in ‘finding yourself’ and call me on 0411 869 226 for a free 20 minute phone consultation.
