Psychotherapy/Counselling can be provided in person or by Video Telehealth via Teams. All first consultations need to be in person to provide the best care. For subsequent consultations if you wish to have Video Telehealth a Teams link will be sent to you to connect online.

If you have a Mental health treatment plan from your GP or by Dr. Himani K at an initial consultation you will be eligible to get Medicare rebates for six therapy sessions and if further therapy is required, following a review of the plan for another four sessions to partly cover your costs for therapy.

Himani Kariyawasam

Dr. Himani Kariyawasam, MBBS, FRACGP, PhD is a Vocationally Registered General Practitioner with Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners with RACGP accreditation and Medicare recognition for Focused Psychological Strategies/Counselling. She can be consulted in her Rouse Hill rooms at YourChoice Medical Care by appointment. You may consult with a GP Mental Health Treatment Plan from your regular GP or have a GPMHTP done by her and then have the psychotherapy, to get Medicare rebates if eligible.
She has been helping people suffering from depression, anxiety and interpersonal issues. Mindfulness based practices are mainly used.
