Dominic Lawrenson

Dom brings a friendly and relaxed atmosphere to counselling with individuals and couples. During his time in private practice, he has conducted in excess of 2500 sessions with clients from very diverse backgrounds and experiences. He is an enthusiastic member of the ACA (Australian Counselling Association) and continually builds on his expertise and knowledge so he can provide the highest level of care and assistance. In providing a non-judgmental space Dom always strives to create an encouraging environment that helps his clients speak and express themselves freely.
Counselling can feel a bit scary to even the bravest of us, so Dom works hard to create an open and respectful time which even the most nervous of us can feel heard and accepted. Dom will aim to appropriately use a direct style of counselling focused on your progress and goals. Regardless of the issues, you need to feel validated and comfortable.
Dom actively listens and shows high levels of empathy with his clients. He is also regarded as flexible; in that he will tailor the sessions to the specific needs of the client instead of following pre-determined guidelines. He has a sense of humour which can also alleviate tensions where appropriate. He welcomes your call so you can test his suitability.
